Peugeot is delighted to announce that, to celebrate the launch of its brand new 308 Coupé Cabriolet – the convertible for all seasons - it has commissioned BOND, the all-female multi-million selling original electric string quartet, to write and record a new arrangement of classical music’s most popular work – the Four Seasons. The recording is available exclusively through Peugeot’s website.

An innovative move, this unorthodox release (four tracks; one representing each of the seasons) makes Peugeot the first car manufacturer to record and release a mini-album exclusively for free download.

The modern interpretation of the Baroque masterpiece has been recorded to mark the launch of the Peugeot 308 CC model - an innovative addition to the Peugeot family with a first-in-its class Airwave Neck Heating System that blows air around the neck, allowing the driver the pleasure of enjoying a convertible all year round.

In lending their genre-defying sound to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the Bond girls were inspired by their good friend and colleague, Nigel Kennedy. Says viola player, Tania: “We were so happy to be invited by Peugeot to record our take on the Four Seasons. This is our own celebration of one of the greatest and most exciting pieces of music and which all string players adore performing.”

This also marks the first time Bond unveils its new member, violinist Elspeth Hanson. Elspeth was chosen from hundreds of musicians and is the beautiful and hugely talented violinist who played alongside David Beckham; guitar legend, Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis at last year’s handover to Britain at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.


British-based Bond (Eos Chater, violin; Elspeth Hanson, violin; Gay-Yee Westerhoff, cello, and Tania Davis, viola) will be staging a string of free live performances as they accompany the Peugeot 308 CC road-show throughout the country (dates include Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle). Free of charge to the public, the events promise to live up to Bond’s vibrant reputation for delivering its spectacular musical and visual performance.

The launch of the 308 CC brings something new and exciting to the Peugeot portfolio and with its low sporty profile it is the must-have buy of the year for style enthusiasts. The car’s four full-size seats capitalise on the renowned strength of the existing 308 range, whilst still embodying the spirit of the highly acclaimed 307 Coupé Cabriolet. A WHEEL SUCCESS: LADIES WITH MS CONQUER 84 MILE TREK

Britain’s one and only ‘Scooter Formation Team’ – the Red Wheelies – have been thrust into the spotlight as they completed their biggest challenge yet: a gruelling journey along the full length of Hadrian’s Wall, travelling over 84 miles in less than two weeks.

It is the first time that anyone has ever attempted to travel the distance of the world renowned Roman wall on mobility scooters in its 2,000 year history – ensuring that the ladies are true trail blazers and hopefully their experiences could encourage other people to follow in their tracks for years to come.
All members of this pioneering party have Multiple Sclerosis - eight of the nine are grannies, two celebrate their ruby wedding anniversaries this year, three will turn 60 before the end of 2009 and between them, they boast an impressive combined age of 542.

The group undertook this colossal challenge, on scooters donated by Quingos, in order to raise much needed funds for The Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Canterbury, a self funding charity, set up by MS sufferers – and offering oxygen therapy, physiotherapy, nutrition and diet advice, nurse clinics, support groups and counselling services for both patients and carers.

Red Wheelie team leader, Jackie Weeden, said; “It has a been a truly amazing journey. There were a few days when we feared the weather would beat us. However, we battled on and crossed the finishing line with the sun shining in the end!"

“We also want people to know that MS is by no means the end and can be the start of something new and different. We are self-funding and completed this expedition as part of our annual holiday, ensuring all funds raised go direct to the Therapy Centre we attend.
“We have received some fantastic support from Quingos Mobility Scooters –without them, this trip really wouldn’t have been possible. I hope we've shown that we certainly don't shy away from the challenge and we can't wait to get started on something new and keep raising both funds and awareness for MS."

TASTE OF EDINBURGH PRESENTS SUNDAY IN THE CITY- Summer Food Festival Serves up Sunday Dinner with a Difference

Taste of Edinburgh, Scotland’s leading food and drink festival, has announced a recipe for the perfect summer Sunday in Inverleith Park. This year the event has added a new Sunday evening session to the weekend festival (29th – 31st May), meaning that instead of enjoying just one Sunday dinner – you can select from 14 of Edinburgh’s top eateries, sampling from their exclusive Taste menus.

Visitors to the festival can enjoy a long lazy summer day at the new 4.30pm – 8.30pm session, where they will see leading chefs working their culinary magic live on stage, sample and buy from Scotland’s unrivalled fine food and drink producers and eat from 14 city restaurants.

TV favourite, Jean-Christophe Novelli will be at the festival on Sunday 31st May, where he will be appearing at the French Flair Theatre sponsored by Peugeot. Jean-Christophe will offer festival-goers a flavour of France at his afternoon and evening demonstrations, showcasing at 12 noon, 3.00pm and 5.00pm.

The stars will be out in force on Sunday afternoon, as The ScottishPower Taste Theatre will also be serving up an equally tempting array of foods from leading chefs.

Scotland’s Michelin star chef Tom Kitchin will demonstrate his passion for fresh Scottish produce at the Taste Theatre, and will be followed by his head pastry chef and World Chocolate Master, Sebastian Kobelt. Sebastian will demonstrate his exquisite chocolate making skills, before guiding your palate through the complex, creamy flavours of his divine desserts in a unique masterclass.

The star line up is completed with a demonstration from Michelin master Tony Borthwick, head chef of the Plumed Horse restaurant in Leith.

After an afternoon of food, evening session visitors can also watch a unique demonstration from the Bacaro cocktail flarers – guaranteed to set your Sunday evening alight.

Leading culinary voice Mary Contini of Edinburgh institution Vincaffe, will showcase her signature style; a fusion of Italian and Scottish cooking. Edinburgh chef, Tony Singh of restaurants Oloroso and more recently Tony’s Table, will conclude the evening of demonstrations in the Theatre from 8-8.30pm, presenting one of his appealing dishes, giving guests easy to follow tips they can take back home to impress their friends and family.

Honey Fayre Golden Ale, Conwy Brewery
A great alternative to lager, the Honey Fayre Golden Ale is made with Welsh honey and has become one of the brewery’s most popular ales. The deliciously refreshing drink is dry in flavour with the sweetness of the honey emerging in the aroma leading to a pleasing bitter finish.

The Conwy Brewery began life in 2003 and immediately started bottling ales on-site to retain their authenticity. The ale is light enough for a summer evening and not too bitter or heavy as is common with many ales.
