MAJOR NEW EXHIBITION LAUNCHED AT THE BEAULIEU ATTRACTION- A great day out for dads and all the family.

The World of Top Gear Exhibition opened its doors at the National Motor Museum on June 19th.

The new exhibition at Beaulieu in the New Forest features a collection of the actual cars created by presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May for some of their most ambitious challenges on the TV show over the years.

Fans of the show will be familiar with challenges such as their attempt to cross the Channel with their home-made car/boats, and the Stretched Limo Challenge, where they set out to turn rusty second-hand cars into luxury stretch limos, and chauffer three celebs to the BRIT Awards.

Visitors will also experience the Top Gear ‘Enormodrome’ which aims to recreate the feel of the Top Gear studio, where the TV show is filmed in front of a live audience.

As well as regular features from the programme including the Cool Wall and the Celebrity “Lap Times” board, visitors can watch an exclusive video presentation from behind the scenes at the TG HQ with Jeremy, Richard and James plus clips from the show featuring the cars on display.

“It makes perfect sense for the National Motor Museum to be working with BBC Worldwide on the launch of World of Top Gear. While the National Motor Museum is primarily about classic cars this exhibition shows that cars can be entertaining and accessible to the whole family, not just the car enthusiasts. THE TWO RONNIES SERIES 5
Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett were an unlikely comedy team but their talents complemented each other perfectly in a series which ran for 16 years and became a part of British television history.
From their introduction, "And in a packed programme tonight..." to the “Goodnight from him”, savour the familiar features of the comedy duo - the opening and closing news items, the party sketches, the doctor’s surgery set pieces, Ronnie Barker’s word-play speeches, the rambling monologues from Ronnie Corbett and some magnificent musical pastiches.

This fifth series was broadcast in September and October 1976 and, many claim, showcases the two comedians at their peak. Spike Milligan, David Renwick and the Monty Python boys all helped to pen the classic sketches which regularly attracted viewers of 17 Million in their hey day.

Among these eight episodes you will find their most famous sketch, Fork Handles or ‘Annie Finkhouse’, as well as such gems as Pismonuncers Unanimus, It’s A Washout and Tomorrow’s Kitchen. The series also featured the Spike Milligan penned serial The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town (with the raspberry provided by a young David Jason!).

The next incarnation finds Edmund in Regency England in the late-18th-century. This time, Blackadder is a mere butler to the idiotic Prince Regent (Hugh Laurie in a brilliantly buffoonish performance) and is caught in various misadventures with Samuel Johnson, Shakespearean actors, the Scarlet Pimpernel, and William Pitt the younger. With a brief stop in Victorian London for a Christmas special, the series concludes with several episodes set during the Great War.

In the fourth and final chapter of the chronicles of the Blackadder dynasty Edmund is a career army officer, but a scoundrel all the same; shirking his duties whenever possible and taking advantage of any opportunity for undeserved reward. Set in a much darker period of history, Edmund is doing all he can to escape the trenches of the First World War and the dreaded order to go 'over the top'. This award-winning series is renowned for the closing moments of the final episode, a bold and highly poignant last scene when Blackadder and his men finally do charge into No-Man's-Land.
