Fundraise for Breakthrough whilst you get a new do!

Regis Salons have also recently joined up with Breakthrough Breast Cancer and ghd to take the fear out of breast cancer. Regis salons up and down the country will be going pink for the first time to help fight breast cancer. Staff are going to be doing all sorts of wonderful and wacky activities to help fundraise for Breakthrough Breast Cancer during this October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month – from zumbathons and raffles to selling pink lemonade and cupcakes. As well as fundraising, the salons will once again be stocking ghd’s Pink Orchid Limited Edition stylers, which are designed exclusively every year to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Regis Salons nationwide have been stocking limited edition ghd’s since 2006 and through these sales have already raised over £140,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. This year’s Pink Orchid limited edition styler works this season’s pink and black lace trend and features a sheer lace print layered over this seasons colour; hot orchid pink, to create a super slick design. For the first time ever, this year’s Pink limited edition features the ghd Gold Series Classic Styler with the styling plates transformed into a vibrant shade of hot orchid pink.

A super-stylish case/ clutch bag accompanies this seasons ghd Pink Orchid limited edition styler making it set to be one of the most coverted stylers yet and with £10 from every sale being donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer it’s the beauty buy with a conscience.

ZUMBA® CREATOR BRINGS FITNESS-CONCERT TO ALEXANDRA PALACE TO RAISE MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH VIA THE PARTY IN PINK™ ZUMBATHON CAMPAIGN.

On 16th October 2011, Beto Perez, the creator of the Zumba® program, will lead a Zumbathon® charity event for 3,500 people at London’s Alexandra Palace to support breast cancer research and community outreach programs as part of Zumba® Fitness’ Party in Pink™ campaign.

The event will raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Cure Cancer and Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Global Promise Fund.

In 2010, Zumba Fitness, the Latin and international music inspired dance-fitness brand, created the Party in Pink™ Zumbathon movement which raised over $550,000 in the US for breast cancer research and awareness.

Due to such huge success, Zumba Fitness is now re-launching the Party in Pink campaign globally. At least 75 percent of ticket sales from Zumbathon charity events hosted by Zumba® instructors and 30 percent of Zumba® apparel sales will be donated to leading UK breast cancer research charity, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and to global breast cancer charity, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Global Promise Fund.

A Zumbathon charity event is a Zumba® class arranged by a licensed Zumba instructor with the aim of raising money for charity. Throughout August, September and October, instructors are encouraged to hold Zumbathon events in support of breast cancer charities as part of the Party in Pink campaign. Instructors can list their events on www.partyinpink.com, and enthusiasts can locate an event in their area to attend and support this cause.

The Zumbathon event that Beto will lead at Alexandra Palace has been arranged by Cure Cancer founder, Carole Sobell from London, a spokesperson for the Party in Pink Zumbathon charity campaign. “As a breast cancer survivor and Zumba enthusiast myself, I am so excited to be joining the Party in Pink campaign and arranging this event. It is a perfect excuse to get over 3,500 people to join the party and celebrate to raise money for such a good cause.”

Chris Askew, Chief Executive of Breakthrough Breast Cancer comments,

“We are truly excited to be the beneficiary of Zumba Fitness’ Party in Pink campaign in 2011. We’ve seen the huge success it has achieved in the USA, and we hope that people across the UK will embrace it with similar enthusiasm.”

“It’s a great way for friends, family and colleagues to come together, have some fun and support a great cause. The money raised through Zumba’s Party in Pink campaign will enable us to continue with our life-saving research, campaigning and education work. Through this work we believe passionately that breast cancer can be beaten.”

The Zumbathon charity event will take place on 16th October at 2pm at Alexandra Palace, Alexandra Palace Way, London, N22 7AY. Tickets for the event may be purchased online via Ticketmaster at www.zumba.com/uk-zumbathon.

Rebecca Kane Managing Director of APTL said;

“We cannot wait to see the magnificent Great Hall at Ally Pally transformed into a sea of pink party-goers, giving it their best Zumba® moves, whilst raising money for this important cause. Please come and show your support for this unique event and enjoy a day out at the People's Palace".

Tickets are priced at £30 and 100 percent of ticket sales for this event will be donated to the associated charities. Celebrity guests to be confirmed.

“Through this work we believe passionately that breast cancer can be beaten.”
