The Blood Pressure Association (BPA), the UK’s blood pressure charity, is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure.

16 million people in the UK – that’s one in three - have high blood pressure and one in three of them don’t know it because it usually has no symptoms.

Unknown and untreated high blood pressure increases risk of stroke, heart attack and heart disease, the major causes of death and disability.

The good news is that high blood pressure can be controlled and even prevented - and the BPA is here to help. The BPA has a host of practical information on all aspects of high blood pressure, from medication and home monitoring to diet and exercise tips.

The BPA also produces a popular quarterly magazine, Positive Pressure, for people who want to lead a full and active life by taking control of their blood pressure.

Each September, the BPA runs Know your Numbers!® Week, the UK’s biggest blood pressure testing event where people can get free blood pressure checks at venues nationwide. Visit www.bpassoc.org.uk to find your nearest venue.

The BPA is a registered charity and relies on donations to support its work. Charity Registration No: 1058944
